Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a Sales Managerto join our team at Hickman Nissan Gander. If you are an energetic and motivated individual who has a positive attitude, a dedication to providing exceptional customer service and a desire to succeed, then we would love to have you.
The Sales Manager assumes responsibility for all aspects of the new and pre-owned departments. They will fulfill responsibilities primarily through effective personnel management, inventory management, knowledge of market conditions, established performance standards, and continuous sales training.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, supervise, and monitor the performance of the new and used sales consultants.
- Meet with sales consultants to establish annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, and gross profits.
- Interact with all returning and prospective customers in the Dealership, helping sales consultants’ close deals as needed.
- Ensure that sales consultants understand and adhere to dealership policies, procedures, and sales systems.
- Maintain dealership standards for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining new and used vehicles.
- Establish procedures for quick disposal of overaged vehicles.
- Issue all demonstrators and ensures that appropriate dealership records are maintained. Check the condition of all demonstrators monthly.
- Meet with the general manager to review monthly forecasts, commission sheets, productivity reports, and the profit performance of each department as a whole and each salesperson individually.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual dealership forecast by projecting unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profits for the new- and used-sales departments.
- Conduct major sales promotions and advertising, including managing dealership social media.
- Address customer complaints to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Create systems that ensure ongoing sales training.
- Host weekly sales meetings reviewing current sales, prospective deals and inventory with sales consultants.
- Conduct all trade-in appraisals and audit weekly.
- Ensure post-sale delivery and follow-up procedures are followed by sales consultants.
- Review and initial all deals before they are posted.
- Assists in facilitating new-vehicle pre-delivery-inspection (PDI) with the service manager.
- Must present a positive image of the dealership with a helpful friendly attitude.
Qualifications:

Used car experience will be considered an asset

Post-secondary education considered an asset.

Knowledge of product and promotional information.

Computer knowledge.

Leadership skills of delegation, empowerment, coaching, organizing and planning, and interpersonal sensitivity.

Strong work ethic.

Well-developed team member skills.

Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills.

Ability to design effective advertising.

Ability to link inventory to marketing plan.

Ability to conduct sales analyses, comparing sales performance with current sales goals.
