Job Summary
London International Academy is a unique private International boarding high school located in London, Ontario. Since 2002, we have been providing Ontario High School curriculum (grades 9 through 12) as well as IB International Baccalaureate program since 2022.
Experienced teacher required to teach the Ontario Ministry approved art course(s) for the high school levels 9 to 12. The ability to work with a diverse student body is essential. We are looking for an energetic and creative person who is comfortable thinking outside the box, at ease with teens and able to deliver the course material in a clear and engaging manner.
Compensation:
Part-time $35 hourly rate
10 to 20 hours a week
Qualifications:
-B.A. is required
-Canadian, PR, or valid work permit status only apply.
-Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) is desired but not required.
- IB certification is preferred or willing to be certified at our school
-Must be familiar with the Ministry of Education Curriculum and Growing Success
-Experience in teaching Gr.9-12 students.
-Prefer expertise in subject area and ability to provide effective experiential learning
-Enthusiastic and positive attitude, highly responsible; able to motivate and inspire students
Able to help students with diverse educational backgrounds and learning ability
Job Description:
Teach Ontario Secondary School curriculum a high level of proficiency in class
Assess and identify students’ individual learning needs
Teach students using a variety of techniques: lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations
Assign and correct homework, provide feedback to contribute to students’ progress.
Evaluate and review the progress of students and discuss progress results with students and Parents
Our faculty is extremely professional and supportive. Experience working with ESL students is beneficial.
