About the role

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Fort McMurray, AB.

You will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
  • Coaches on preventative maintenance activities and basic repairs completed by customer employees
  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced On-Site Technicians and/or Supervisor
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Heavy duty Red seal certification- OFF road is mandatory for these roles.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driver's abstract

Experience:

  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation or engine products.
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)
  • Customer service experience

(Intermediate):

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

About the role:

  • Position is based out of Fort Hills, camp based, with flights out of Edmonton and Calgary
  • Shift cycle is 7x7 on rotation day and night.
  • Work will be predominantly supporting the shovel fleet, including electric shovels.
  • Position is safety sensitive.
  • Random alcohol and drug testing to be expected on work site.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

7x7 days and nights rotation

Heavy Equipment Off Road Certificate required

Cummins experience an asset

A copy of your red seal certification or trade diploma will be requested.

A copy of a 5 years drivers abstract is necessary for this role.

A valid driver's license is mandatory for this role.
