The Role
The Accounts Payable Administrator will primarily be responsible for processing and monitoring payments and expenditures for the organization to ensure company finances are accurate and up to date. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits.
Your Impact
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services and ensure that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
- Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.
- Enter invoices in the system to issue payments.
- Manage and own the weekly cheque run.
- Prepare vendor cheques for mailing.
- Prepare manual cheques as and when required.
- Maintain updated vendor files and file numbers.
- Print and distribute monthly financial reports.
- Receive and maintain purchase orders and contracts.
- Perform accounting duties related to fixed assets.
- Monitor ongoing special projects for the sales department, as needed.
- Perform back up duties for the Senior AP team and Import Administrator, as needed.
- Work safely and follow legislated and established safe work procedures and practices.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations including bank and other general ledger accounts.
- Any additional duties as required in adherence to the JVF GMP policies.
About You
- Prior AP background with at least 1 – 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications and accounting software (such as Simply Accounting or AS400).
- Import Documentation experience/Customs Broker Invoice Audit
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy. You pride yourself on your keen eye for detail!
- Genuine passion for continuous learning and development.
- Sound communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma or equivalent in a similar role.
