The bigger picture We are actively seeking a dynamic and adaptable individual with a strategic mindset to join our team as a Financial Advisor – Specialist within our Regina market. In this role, you will focus on cultivating strong and reliable relationships with our members. Through meaningful conversations and continuous support, you will offer personalized insights and solutions, empowering our members to make well-informed decisions about their finances. This role builds on experience gained as a Financial Advisor – Generalist and marks your step into either consumer lending specialization, or specialization in investments and mutual funds.
How You’ll Be Spending Your Time Member Experience and Sales
- Offering financial solutions and specializing in either consumer investments (including registered accounts, products, and mutual funds), or lending services (including consumer loans, mortgages, etc.), to fulfil the evolving needs of our members.
- Growing and refining your skills and knowledge to consistently perform with confidence.
- Provide account and lending products, within scope of position, to meet member needs:
- Memberships and accounts including lines of credit
- Complex consumer lending products
- Credit Cards
- Safety deposit boxes
- Mobile banking solutions
- Day to day banking needs
- Conduct proactive outreach activities to educate members and prospective members on the value and function of our products and services
- Increase retention and expansion of member relationships by referring members to appropriate subject matter experts, based on needs, and follow-up to ensure member satisfaction
Compliance and Organizational Support
- Ensure complete, accurate and timely documentation
- Adhere to security and operational policies, procedures and operational controls
- Ensure healthy balance between opportunity & risk and between growth & profitability (e.g. through understanding and application of profitability margins in rate negotiation, fee subsidies, etc.)
- Positively represent Conexus internally and externally to support the growth of our membership and to enhance credit union system support and collaboration
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve operational efficiencies
- Provide support, assistance and backup as required for retail team

The Experience You Bring
- 2 – 3 years of financial industry experience in an advisory capacity
- Experience in a sales position considered an asset
- Experience in portfolio management
- Completion of, or working towards the Financial Planner and Personal Financial Services Advice designations
If Specializing In Investments
- Actively registered to sell mutual fund products
- Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) license
If Specializing In Lending
- Experience in underwriting and approving credit applications
Salary range $58,540 - $73,710 with 9% Short Term Incentive Target
