Canada Summer Jobs Temporary Position (Approx. 8 weeks).
Windsor, ON - 35 hours/wk.
Hourly $21.17 CAD
Must meet the requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs program.
As part of the Karis Disability Services District Office team, the Seasonal Direct Support Professional provides services to the people supported by Karis Disability Services in the absence of the regularly scheduled Direct Support Professional. The Seasonal Direct Support Professional assists with activities of daily living and promotes the implementation of person- centered plans. They work in cooperation with their work team and complete administrative duties as assigned. They seek to promote Karis Disability Services’ Service Principles by enhancing relationships, promoting citizenship, celebrating people’s gifts, recognizing self-determination, encouraging growth and development, and recognizing the need for holistic supports in a manner that considers each person’s intrinsic value.
The Seasonal Social Direct Support Professional will respect and uphold the Values, Vision and Mission of Karis Disability Services, demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy and respect in their dealings with other employees, people using services, and both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program for this position:
- The candidate will work 35 hours a week for approximately 8 weeks;
- Be between the ages of 18-30 at the start of employment;
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
