About the role
Summary:
In the role of Cleaner / Plant Maintenance Helper, you will be integral to maintaining a clean and organized environment within our manufacturing plant facility. Follow cleaning schedules, safety checklists and/or maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plant sweeping and when necessary support plant cleaning. Operation of motorized sweeper
- Complete scheduled safety checks. Report/repair deficiencies
- Complete scheduled maintenance checks (PM, precision and spare parts). Report deficiencies
- Furniture moving and event set ups
- Spill clean ups
- Maintenance repairs and/or assisting other maintenance employees
- Misc. painting projects
- Yard clean ups and grass trimming
- Winter snow clearing
- Documenting completed tasks
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Possesses a valid Manitoba Driver’s License. Able to drive forklifts, floor sweepers and snow removal equipment.
- Team player – ability to work with other company employees
- Dependable / Punctual
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Self-starter – able to identify work that needs to be done and do it without being instructed to do so.
Working Conditions:
- Work with cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Physical demands include walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, repetitive bending and repetitive arm movements.
- Capable of sustained physical effort while working with light and medium weight equipment. Includes pushing, pulling, lifting and moving said equipment.
- Combination of office, in-plant and exterior work environments.
- Dirty/dusty work environment at times, including restroom repairs, spill clean ups, etc.
- Work schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday. Hours 7:30 -16:00. Occasional overtime may be required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
