Job Summary
Senior Project Manager (ERP Implementation - Technology and Integrations Workstream)
We're seeking an experienced, adaptable and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead the Technology and Integrations workstream for our ERP implementation Program. If you thrive in a fast-paced, Agile environment and enjoy untangling complex technical challenges, this role is for you. You'll be instrumental in implementing our ERP system with essential third-party applications, ensuring a seamless user experience.
The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, monitor and deliver programs and projects of large size and/or complexity according to strict quality, time, and financial parameters. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Working closely with a project's Executive Sponsor, the Senior Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and continuously monitor the project throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure objectives are met.
What you'll be doing:
Goal Setting and Project Planning
- Define realistic project goals and objectives with Project Managers, Business Analysts, workstream leads, delivery partners, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare cost and resource estimates and develop detailed project plans for all phases of the project.
- Help identify resource and budgetary requirements; identify, source and confirm resource and funding commitments prior to project/program launch.
Project Tracking and Evaluation
- Plan and facilitate regular and ad hoc project team meetings.
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
- Identify, help resolve, and escalate project risks and issues as per defined project governance.
- Work analytically and creatively using teamwork, innovation, and excellence to solve problems.
Communications and Coordination
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact to the project's sponsor, senior steering committee, and any associated leadership teams; the Senior Project Manager will be adept at communicating effectively with leaders from across the college.
- Develop and execute a communication strategy that reflects the needs of all project stakeholders.
- Report on project status, progress, metrics, risks, issues, dependencies, test results, and deployment activities.
- Providing feedback, advice, and encouragement to the Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other team members.
- Coordinate and maintain communications with external partners, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
Program and Portfolio Management
- Working with the Director - EPMO, the Senior Project Manager will assist with project portfolio management activities to ensure alignment of the overall program with strategic business objectives.
- The Senior Project Manager may be expected to stand-in and represent the EPMO in the Director's absence.
Mentoring and Coaching
- Monitor and coach junior Project Managers, Business Analysts, and workstream leads.
- Provide leadership by building and motivating project teams to meet their project goals; the Senior Project Manager is expected to maintain regular (i.e., daily) contact with key project team members (may vary according to project phase and activities).
- Working with the Director and key delivery partners, help build and train project teams to expand their capabilities by establishing best practices, policies, methodologies, quality assurance and control, tools, and templates.
- Identify professional development and process improvement opportunities on the project/program.
Hiring and Training
- Identify resources needed to satisfy project requirements.
- Participate in interviewing project team candidates, assess competencies, make recommendations, and assist in onboarding to the project or program.
- Ensure all team members have access to any relevant training or job aids specific to the role and/or project.
Practice Management
- In collaboration with Director, the Senior Project Manager should help monitor, assess, and adopt the latest project management developments, standards, best practices, and tools.
- The Senior Project Manager should be prepared to play the role of a trusted advisor/consultant to the Director, other members of the EPMO team, and internal College stakeholders.

What you'll bring to the role:
- A University Degree/College Diploma or equivalent in such disciplines as Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related field is required at the point of hire into this position.
- Preference given to candidates with certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PfMP, CAMP).
- 7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborate environment.
- Strong familiarity with MS Project project management software.
- Demonstrated experience in personnel management (and/or coaching and mentoring).
- Proficient in various related software (e.g., MS Visio, MS Office Suite, Jira, Confluence).
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients and other departments.
- Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Higher Education ERP: Direct experience with major ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP, Ellucian) specifically within a higher education institution.
- Third-Party Integration Depth: Specific experience integrating a wide range of third-party applications (LMS, CRM, payment systems, etc.) with core ERP platforms.
- IGA Understanding: Familiarity with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) projects and their intersection with ERP user provisioning and access.
