About the role

  • Read and interpret electronic schematics
  • Test / troubleshoot circuits using devices such as a multi-meter, external power supply, simulator boxes
  • Perform small control panel assembly including making connections on screw-type and spring-type terminal connections, installing PCBs and installing cable connectors
  • Perform basic soldering of wires and connectors
  • PCB component / wire soldering
  • Cut and strip cable / wire
  • Assemble sensors using basic tools and special fixtures by following work instructions and a BOM (Bill of Material)
  • Mechanical assembly of multiple components
  • Mix epoxy to encapsulate sensors
  • Mix electrolyte solutions for charging sensors
  • Perform quality control tests on finished product(s)
  • Package the finished product(s) for shipping
  • Basic knowledge of an ERP system and computer skills to generate records
  • Identify and communicate process improvements
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude

Additional:

  • Shipping and Logistics - Handle product packaging and prepare online shipping documents.
  • Other administrative/programming/SR&ED functions needed upon request.
  • User interface evaluation and testing

Required education:

  • College/University diploma. Electronics Technician / Technologist designation

  • Confident, clear and professional English communication skills, both verbal and written, for dealing effectively with peers and editing work instructions.
  • Positive attitude, cooperative nature, outgoing and friendly with co-workers, customers and vendors.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

We design, research & develop, program, manufacture, service, and provide customer support for our line of Industrial on-line pH, ORP, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen and Chlorine sensors, analyzers and calibration supplies. Every order is custom assembled, quality tested and carefully packaged for delivery around the world. Our products have a reputation for quality and history of performance.

We are also the Canadian National Distributor of Thermo Fisher Scientific – Orion Process products. This is an American line of on-line Pure Water Analysis Equipment that measures Sodium, Silica, Calcium (Water Hardness), Fluoride, Chlorine and Chloride. Since 1981, IC Controls has been performing all the Sales, Service and Warranty from our facility.

Both lines are sold into Mines and Metal Refineries, Steel Mills, Power (both thermal and nuclear), Water and Waste facilities, Pulp & Paper Mills, Breweries, Sugar Refineries, Chemical Plants, Oil Refineries and general Manufacturing.

OUR PURPOSE To make high quality Water Analysis Equipment which reliably and accurately measures the quality of water for improved quality of life on earth. For our customer, we strive to maximize the efficiency and minimize the maintenance of the process water they are monitoring.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT We are a team of 10 individuals who strive for the customer’s success. We market our products and services in person, on the phone, via email, from our website and through a small network of Distributors around the world. Our facility is clean, bright and spacious for what we do. The office is usually quiet so it is easy to concentrate. The dress code is business casual. Corporate hours are: Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5pm.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Education – College and/or University diploma. Certifications – Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness, Certificate Criminal Record Check, WHMIS Capabilities:
