York Care Centre is a Centre of Excellence in long-term care in New Brunswick. Operating as part of York Developments Inc. our senior living options include a 218-bed modern long-term care facility, an assisted living facility housing 31 studio apartments and 72 independent living apartments. We also operate The York Care Foundation, leading fund-raising efforts on behalf of York Care Centre.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that all financial records and accounts are accurately maintained in compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies of the York Group of Companies.
Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, coordinate, and manage all financial and accounting activities related to month-end close, including account reconciliations, journal entries, analysis and reporting and play a key role in the year end audit process

Collaborate in the development, maintenance and enforcement of internal controls for financial management; support budgeting and cost control efforts; and provide statistical analysis as needed

Manage all aspects of account receivable activities for the York Group of companies

Assist in preparing the annual budgets of the York Group of Companies

Assist in the onboarding, training and ongoing support of junior accounting personnel

Foster effective, courteous, and professional communication with both internal and external stakeholders
As the ideal candidate, you will possess:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.

Professional Accounting designation - CPA, CA, CMA, CGA

Proven experience (4+ years) as an accountant, preferably in the healthcare industry

Excellent time management skills with consistent ability to meet deadlines

Detail Oriented

Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Proficiency in Excel, Sage 300 and Microsoft
