We’re currently seeking a motivated and experienced Dining Room Manager who can lead both front and back-of-house operations while building a positive and productive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring both front (dining room take out, drive-thru) and back of house run smoothly
- Hire and train new staff to maintain high standards and team cohesion
- Lead and coach your team during all shifts to meet brand standards and achieve business goals
- Deliver consistently exceptional Guest Experiences through proactive engagement and rapid complaint resolution
- Maintain food quality and recipe adherence in alignment with Swiss Chalet’s standards
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety protocols (including Safe Food Handling, WHMIS, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act)
- Train, develop, and support team members to build a high-performing and engaged workforce
- Create staff schedules and support the team to ensure everyone performs at their best
- Contribute to budgeting, ordering, inventory management, and cost control
- Coordinate with suppliers to arrange cost-effective and timely delivery of food and other essential supplies.
- Support and implement operational standards, procedures, and company initiatives
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Franchise Owner on strategy, operations, and execution
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of management experience in a high-volume dining or quick-service restaurant setting
- Post-secondary education (Food-related fields are an asset but not required)
- Valid Food Handler’s Certificate and Smart Serve certification
- Fluent in English (spoken and written);
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of food safety and HACCP standards
- Experience with labour and food cost controls, budgeting, and scheduling
- Proficient in training, motivating, and coaching team members
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Guest-focused mindset with a hands-on management style
