About the role
We are seeking a highly organized and driven Parts Manager to oversee the parts department’s daily operations. The Parts Manager is responsible for managing inventory, ordering parts, and ensuring exceptional service to both internal departments and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement, storage, and distribution of parts and supplies.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support service and customer needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Supervise, train, and support parts department staff.
- Monitor and control parts expenses, use and ensure profitability.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, parts tracking, and timely reporting.
- Implement inventory control systems to reduce shrinkage and improve efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service to technicians, service managers, and external clients.
- Ensure the parts department complies with all company policies and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Continuously seek process improvements to increase productivity.
- Assist with internal parts rebuilding, and equipment rebuilding.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Parts Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive, heavy equipment, or relevant parts (depending on industry).
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer applications.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Post-secondary education in business, logistics, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in parts management or inventory control.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Work may involve some lifting and warehouse, tasks.
- Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail.
