Who We Are

Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.

Advancement and Alumni Engagement (AAE) is committed to working with donors and alumni to advance new ideas that are furthering our communities - like addressing environmental concerns and providing life-long value for students - and encourage investment in programs that are transforming the landscape for teaching and learning.

About the Role

The Advancement Officer, Leadership Giving is responsible for managing relationships with donor prospects determined to have the ability to make annual leadership gifts at the $1K to $10K level. The role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for securing financial support from a portfolio of donor prospects including identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding these gifts from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, corporate and the community. Through the management of these relationships, the Manager identifies those capable of upgrading to give major and special gifts at the $10K to $250K level. The Advancement Officer works in collaboration with the Pan-University team to develop and implement strategies to upgrade donors and develop the pipeline for major and planned gifts.
