About the Program
The NOFRILLS Franchise Academy is a full-time, immersive experience that combines operational training, leadership development, and strategic project work. Through this program, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience in high-performing NOFRILLS locations
- Receive mentorship from experienced Franchise Owners
- Lead operational projects and contribute to banner-wide initiatives
- Develop a deep understanding of the NOFRILLS business model
- Build meaningful connections across our national store network
Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to apply for franchise opportunities and join a network of over 150 successful Academy graduates who now operate their own NOFRILLS stores.

During the Program:

Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking dynamic individuals from diverse backgrounds who have a passion for retail, food, and community service. You’ll thrive in this role if you have the following:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience in the grocery or retail sector
- A strong understanding of store operations, merchandising, and financial performance (P&L, budgeting, shrink, labour management)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in unionized or non-union environments
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
- Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial drive
- Commitment to community engagement and values-driven leadership
- Flexibility to travel across Canada during the program
- Willingness to relocate (provincially or nationally) for franchise opportunities upon graduation
Program Requirements:
- Ability to participate in a national, full-time program
- Flexibility to support special projects and travel as needed
- Readiness to relocate for franchise opportunities
- Successful completion of a background check is required
