Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operation
- Perform as a team member with the maintenance employees who are providing electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment and building
- Preventive maintenance checks made on each shift as per schedule
- Promptly respond to trouble shoot and repair breakdowns calls and notify shift supervisor if unable to respond
- Be responsible for timely, quality repair and conduct routine preventive maintenance and upgrades as needed to minimize downtime
- Liaise with all departments within the facility
Health & Safety (H&S), Quality Assurance (QA), Safe Quality Food (SQF) and 5S requirements
- Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out. No damaged raw material is accepted in
- Health & Safety compliance in accordance with Company policies
- Demonstrate high standards of work practices, food safety and safety conscious behavior
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Critical Control Points: ensure proper Allergen Storage is followed
- Conform to all quality standards, knowledge of Quality manual and procedures.
- Ensure that SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards are followed at all times
- Maintain clean work area
- Follow and comply with 5S system (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
- Comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3-5 years of experience in a food processing manufacturing environment
- Millwright/valid Journeyman ticket (BC TQ or interprovincial)
- Analytical and takes initiative, understands urgency
- Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines
- Experience with SQF and HACCP
- Understanding of Health and Safety in a Manufacturing environment, with a safety-oriented approach to work and to others
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have good communication skills in English – written and verbal.
- Strong sense of teamwork with an aim to achieve and exceed departmental standards.
- Punctual, proactive, and possess excellent work ethics
- Ability to work shifting schedules (day/evening/night), weekends, and holidays
Working Conditions:
- Able to work on foot for long periods of time and performing repetitive work
- Occasionally climbing ladders
- Wear protective clothing, such as coats, hair nets and safety shoes
- Exposure to machinery sounds and loud noise levels
- Ability to push, pull, bend and lift in a production setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43.97-$48.34 per hour

- Millwright/Journeyman Ticket (BC TQ or interprovincial) (required)
