Job Description
The Office of MP Olszewski is currently looking to staff the position of Caseworker.
In this role, you will work with a team of caseworkers and be responsible for managing casefiles for the constituents of Edmonton Centre. You will work with constituents as well as other federal departments to support a wide range of federal matters and resolve cases with care and confidentiality. The role also includes maintaining efficient systems for case tracking and documentation, supporting special projects, and contributing to the smooth operation of the constituency office. Primary responsibilities :
- Creates and maintains systems to monitor casework requests and/or questions to be handled and their respective deadlines, as well as a system for distributing files.
- Acts as the first line of response with constituents for all incoming cases (e.g. immigration, Canada Revenue and Old Age Security files) and provides information, advice and support in person, over the telephone and in writing.
- Manage all incoming communications, including screening phone calls, responding to general inquiries, and handling the Member’s emails and correspondence.
- Drafting letters to constituents and maintaining organized systems for tracking casework and documentation.
- Acting as the first point of contact for constituents, offering support on federal matters and liaising with government agencies to resolve issues.
- Maintaining the Member’s schedule and providing administrative support to ensure smooth office operations.
- Supporting special projects and performs other related duties as needed.

Qualifications
Education:
- Post-secondary education from a recognized institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Experiences:
- Experience providing administrative or front-desk support in an office or similar setting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Experience working with others in a team environment and maintaining positive relationships with various stakeholders.
- Background in customer or client service, with a focus on casework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Knowledge of the riding of Edmonton Centre.
Assets:
- Experience working with a Member of Parliament or a political office.
- Knowledge of a second language, particularly French.
