Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight : Supervise all phases of forest development contracts including layout, cruising, archaeology, and ecology work.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, forest legislation, and sustainable forest management (SFM) requirements.
- Contractor Leadership : Manage and support contractor performance, safety, and environmental practices.
- Permitting & Planning : Oversee the full cycle of cutting and road permit applications, ensuring timely and accurate data submissions.
- Collaboration : Work closely with internal departments, government agencies, and stakeholders to support successful planning and operational outcomes.
Your Background
- Education : Degree or Diploma in Forestry or a related discipline. Registration or eligibility as an RPF or RFT with the Forest Professionals of British Columbia.
- Experience : 2+ years of experience in forestry, including operational planning, cruising, harvesting, or silviculture.
- Skills : Proven leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge : Solid understanding of BC forestry legislation, policies, and modern forestry technology.
- Mindset : A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for the outdoors.
