The new physician will be working in a modern community clinic administered by the Quadra Island Health Society and working arrangements are very flexible as existing physician will be reducing hours and happy to job share or provide full locum cover and support, if anyone wishes to work full time at the office. There are no liabilities or costs involved as the Health Society are responsible for daily management of staff and premises. Overheads are fixed , around 25%.
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
- Recruitment Incentive: $10,000 (full-time)
- Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
- Fee Premium: 9.98%
- Annual Flat Fee: $15,458.40
- Rural CME: starting at $2,200.00/annum in year 3 & 4 to a maximum of $4,400.00/annum after 4 years
Community Information
Quadra Island, located off the east coast of Vancouver Island in the heart of the Discovery Islands, is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.
Quadra has a winter population of about 3,000 swelling in the summer to close to 5,000 people. There is a vibrant Kwakiutl village of Cape Mudge People on Quadra who make their living from fishing, fish processing, aquaculture as well as forestry. Many professionals reside on Quadra Island and work in Campbell River, a 10 minute ferry ride away. There is a local school for Kindergarten to Grade 5 and marvelous daycare and preschool programs as well as a vibrant arts community, small organic farms and two vineyards.
Situated in the center of an absolutely pristine outdoor recreational area, there is an active ecotourism industry focused on fishing, hiking, mountain biking and kayaking. Quadra Island is the ideal location for the outdoor enthusiast!
