Project and Race Coordinator (Full-Time, Permanent)

Location: Edmonton Corporate Office

The Running Room Group of Companies is seeking an energetic and detail-driven Project and Race Coordinator to join our in-office team. This dual-focus role plays a critical part in overseeing store development projects and executing races across Canada. From managing construction timelines to orchestrating race-day logistics, this position is built for someone with organizational savvy, problem-solving prowess, and a passion for running culture.

The Project and Race Coordinator must have experience in a project coordination or project management role. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously.

This job is 100% worked in-office (no work from home or hybrid work).

Key Responsibilities

Store Project Coordination

  • Plan and execute store openings, relocations, renovations, and closures.
  • Collaborate with landlords, designers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.
  • Secure necessary permits and approvals in compliance with lease terms and municipal regulations.
  • Work with the COO and internal teams to ensure project alignment and timely execution
  • Track project milestones, budgets, and schedules while identifying risks and troubleshooting potential delays.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.

Race Planning & Logistics

  • Develop timelines, agendas, and logistics plans for races across Canada.
  • Manage race budgets and coordinate vendors, permits, and product allocations.
  • Partner with Buyers for participant gear and work with Marketing to enhance event visibility.
  • Coordinate online registration setup and facilitate seamless communication with race partners and venues.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on registration status and event execution.
  • Gather post-event feedback and incorporate improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in project coordination or event management.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong budget management and time management abilities.
  • Able to work some evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other planning tools.
  • Familiarity with the store development process, including construction, design, signage, and lease agreements is an asset.
