We’re growing our team and seeking a skilled Survey Manager to lead and support field and office survey operations.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Survey Manager with a strong background in GPS and total station survey methods, and proficiency in AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of relevant field and office experience, a degree in geomatics or a related field, and the capability to manage projects from planning through delivery. A willingness to travel to project sites and a valid driver’s license are required. Experience working in the railway environment is preferred but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate field survey activities across various project sites, primarily within the rail and infrastructure sectors
- Utilize GPS and total station equipment to conduct accurate field surveys
- Oversee data collection, quality assurance, and processing for integration into CAD and GIS systems
- Prepare and review detailed survey drawings using AutoCAD
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and field teams to ensure deliverables meet required standards
- Schedule, manage, and support field crews; ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Travel to project sites across Canada as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of survey processes and technology adoption
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Geomatics, Surveying engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in survey field work, with demonstrated use of GPS and total station equipment
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency for drafting and plan production
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel for project work
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Railway or infrastructure project experience considered an asset
