SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) focuses on non-credit programs supporting corporate training, the individual learner and international projects. We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.
The Opportunity
The Instructional Engagement and Experience Partner brings expertise in employee experience, employee value proposition, process improvement, and project and change management. They will be a critical advisor and leader of instructional relationship and quality strategies within non-approved programming. Through various focus groups, feedback surveys, and stakeholder consultation the Engagement Partner will determine the current as well as future opportunities for innovation to improve the instructor experience and then lead the change projects through implementation. The Engagement Partner will also advise on and provide recommendations to the non-approved inbound strategies to the collective bargaining processes to further improve instructor relations and experience at a labour relations level.
Additionally, they will lead complex instructor relations issues through to resolutions and provide coaching and mentorship to Talent Coordinators to enhance the instructor experience, overall engagement, and meet operational goals.
The Role
-
- Lead the execute of key projects and initiatives of the CEPS Strategic Plan related to Instructor Engagement
- Lead the strategy and creation of an Instructor Experience map of the end to end process and touchpoints that a CEPS instructor goes through from recruitment to instruction execution and feedback
- Identify and advise on innovation opportunities for process improvement and implementation projects to improve instructor experience
- Lead continuous improvement projects related to instructor experience including Enboarder development and implementation, Talent Hub updating and improvements, Pay system improvements etc.
- Create the strategy and lead training initiatives for teams working with instructors. Lead training, professional development, and engagement initiatives for teams and instructors such as planning and facilitating events
- Provide innovative solutions for tools and resources that improve an instructors’ preparedness for responsibilities, success in the classroom, and ease of working at SAIT
- Experience navigating academic governance, faculty relations, and instructional delivery models in a post-secondary context.
- Monitor and integrate current trends in adult learning, instructional design, and digital pedagogy to enhance instructor engagement and development.
- Knowledge of contemporary learning and development methodologies, including microlearning, blended learning, and competency-based education.
- Under the SAIT ES EVP strategy, lead the non-approved instructor specific EVP strategy and present recommendations for improvement through collective bargaining, professional development and training, and enhanced benefits
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Talent Coordinators with regards to instructor engagement within the portfolio and lead initiatives within the portfolios for engagement opportunities or events with instructors
- Lead instructor relations issues resolution, de-escalation, and resolving conflict
- Work with Talent Coordinators, Instructors, and other involved staff to understand needs of partners, concern, and execute through resolution
- Escalate to the Talent Manager as necessary
- Mentor and coach the Talent Coordinators and other support staff in issues resolution, customer service, and complex solutioning
Qualifications

- Minimum
- Post-secondary diploma or degree
- Experience in a team lead, supervisor, or leadership position
- Certification in HR specialty such as employee engagement, adult education, learning and development etc
- Preferred
- Certification in Project Management
- CHRP or CHRL
- Skills Required
- Strong customer service and client relationship experience
- Strong experience in resolving conflict, de-escalation, problem solving
- Excellent organizational and time management
- Strong project management and technical proficiency with various systems and platforms.
- Proficiency in using AI tools for content generation, data analysis, and instructional support (e.g., chatbots, generative AI, learning analytics platforms).
- Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency, resourcefulness and ability to work independently and manage own schedule.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent emotional intelligence and customer service skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Agile mindset and able to pivot in an evolving environment; with a mindset for continuous improvement.
- Lead training, professional development, and engagement initiatives, including large-scale events such as instructor conferences, onboarding fairs, and recognition ceremonies.
- Strong event planning and facilitation skills, including logistics coordination, stakeholder engagement, and post-event evaluation.

Salary Range: $92,753.38 - $101,336.90
