This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.
Who we are
The Finance unit of Insured Health Services oversees the processing of program invoices and physician contracts; supports the financial resource management of the Government of Yukon to ensure cost-effective program and service delivery for Yukoners; generates financial information to aid in decision-making; handles vendor payments; and records client transactions.
This opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Finance, Health Services. This position includes a large variety of finance and administrative duties. Duties may include: coordination of a large and complex variety of service contracts, payment of bills and invoices, completion of reciprocal billing, records management, fielding of inquiring from vendors as well as other administrative tasks. This position requires a multitude of skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing needs.
The successful candidate will need to have exemplary customer services skills with a strong level of attention to detail and accuracy. This position is part of a large team that works closely with each other. The ability to be a strong team player and support for coworkers is an important part of the position.

Essential qualifications

Coursework in accounting, financial or business administration or bookkeeping;

Experience with financial expenditures and accounts payable processes; and

Experience working within a government financial environment will be considered an asset.
