The Hanen Centre is a registered Canadian non-profit dedicated to helping young children develop strong language and literacy skills. We support speech-language professionals, educators, and families worldwide through evidence-based programs and resources.

We are seeking an Email Marketer and Content Developer to join our Marketing & Business Development team. This role combines strong writing skills with hands-on experience in building email campaigns within a CRM environment, while supporting the development of strategic content in collaboration with clinical and marketing colleagues.

This is a full-time, remote position only open to candidates based in Ontario . While the role is primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings or team gatherings may be scheduled throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and edit clear, compelling copy for email campaigns, newsletters, lead generation materials, and other marketing content.
  • Build and schedule email campaigns within our CRM system, including developing audience segmentation lists and custom content personalization using existing templates.
  • Collaborate with clinical and marketing teams to adapt clinical content and documentation into accessible, audience-appropriate marketing materials.
  • Assist with the preparation and refinement of key organizational documents, including materials for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and other duties as needed.
  • Support website content updates, including landing pages and page copy, as required, within our CMS.
  • Build content, such as articles and clinical handouts, within CMS.
  • Contribute to the development and review of social media posts and digital ads, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and tone organization-wide.
  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates) and provide input on campaign improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure consistency of brand tone and messaging across all written materials, including email campaigns, newsletters, lead generation documents, and marketing assets.
  • Manage timelines and communications across stakeholders to ensure content delivery remains on track.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3–6 years of experience in marketing, communications, or content development roles.
  • Demonstrated strength in writing, editing, and attention to detail, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences.
  • Knowledge of worldwide email privacy regulations (e.g., CASL, GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
  • Experience working with CRM or email marketing platforms (Microsoft Dynamics and ClickDimensions experience is considered an asset).
  • Experience building and formatting content, such as articles and clinical handouts, within a content management system (CMS).
  • Ability to interpret complex or technical material (e.g., clinical documentation) and translate it into clear, engaging, and accessible content.
  • Comfortable collaborating with diverse internal stakeholders, including clinical, technical, and operational teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple content requests and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong task management and prioritization skills, with experience using project management tools such as Monday.com (or equivalent) to manage timelines and deliverables.

Assets:

  • Experience in the health, education, or early childhood sectors.
  • Familiarity with basic content performance metrics and their role in marketing optimization.
  • Familiarity with visual layout best practices and tools such as Canva or Adobe Express, or the ability to collaborate effectively with designers to guide tone and visual presentation.

We take the latest research in early language development and translate it into practical, immediately usable tools and strategies for achieving the best possible social, language and literacy outcomes for young children.

We offer a variety of professional development opportunities for Hanen Certified speech-language pathologists and early childhood educators, as well as for those who have not taken any of our certification workshops. These include e-seminars and workshops on a variety of topics including reading and literacy, autism, and language delay.

We also produce a number of resources for professionals working in early childhood settings, as well as for those working with parents. These include easy to use, accessible workbooks, guidebooks and DVDs that help empower parents and educators in facilitating young children's language and literacy development.
