Position: Mine Shovel Maintenance Labourer & Operator
Type: Full time
Location: CNRL Horizon – Pressure & Vac
Schedule: 7 on/7 off
Compensation Details:

Vacation pay at 6% - paid out bi-weekly upon start date

Role Summary:
The mining shovel maintenance labourer & operator is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the mining shovels. This position involves a wide array of physical labour, along with working in confined spaces. The labourer/operator must also clean, maintain all equipment associated with the role, as well as company policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Follow all safety standards, procedures and practices
-
Hand cleaning mining shovels car body, rev frame, boom and housing. Including (confined space crawling work in grease & oil environment) with the use of air actuated tools, hand tools and various cleaning supplies to get areas ready for inspection and or repairs.

Operate steam truck for steaming and pressure washing various components of mining shovels, mobile equipment, vehicles and miscellaneous components
-
Operate support equipment such as AWP(aerial work platform), forklift, telehandler/zoom boom, skid steers, tractors, light vehicles.
-
Drive down in the mine for various needs including performing work, and/or deliveries of supplies.
-
Monitor fluid levels and status of various equipment including mobile equipment, generators, light towers, heaters and notify supervisor when attention to equipment is needed.
-
Ensure that all equipment is parked/staged and plugged-in, in assigned areas when not in use.

Maintain inventory levels of consumables, PPE and various supplies
-
Grease equipment as necessary
-
Must comply with work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requested and completing work orders per instruction.
-
Perform overall caretaking duties of the work area including shoveling snow and sanding as needed as well as maintaining entire maintenance pad, buildings, and specific field areas.

Ensure that all entrances to buildings, walkways and designated travel paths are free from hazards.

Clean warehouses
-
Assist other personnel & contractors as needed for various laboring duties
-
Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
-
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
-
Clean 5-year Driver Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required
-
Common Safety Orientation (CSO) is required

- WHMIS 2015 Certification is required

Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test
- Applicants are required to be clean shaven for testing and beyond

Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
