Would you like to join an energetic team who is committed to collectively enhancing the lives of seniors in our community? Home Instead is currently hiring for a Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator. This position is based out of our Ottawa office. The work hours for this role are 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

As the Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator, you will:

  • Take the lead on high-volume recruitment by building and maintaining a roster of quality CAREGivers who are available for a variety of shifts, live within all areas of the business region, are multilingual and bring a diverse skillset
  • Develop and implement new strategies within the community and through the use of social media to generate applicants and attract top talent
  • Schedule and conduct applicant phone screens and interviews
  • Facilitate the onboarding of newly hired CAREGivers including conducting orientation, reference checks, criminal background checks and motor vehicle checks
  • Create and maintain all employee files and records
  • Participate in CAREGiver retention programs and develop strategies to minimize turnover
  • Update and maintain training records
  • Monitor compliance for local and federal labour and safety laws
  • Facilitate and manage the Joint Health & Safety Committee and all regulations required as per the Ministry of Labour
  • Assist with administrative functions including answering phones in a professional manner
  • Participatein weekly team meetings
  • Provide assistance to various members of the team, including the General Manager/Managing Director, Staff Coordinators, Client Care Coordinators
  • Once training is completed, will be assigned to the on-call schedule rotation

Job Requirements:

  • A driver's license, car insurance, and access to a vehicle are required for this position
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Provides top notch customer service to internal and external customers
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is an expert in multitasking
  • Highly organized with special attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
