About the Opportunity

SJ Geophysics is looking for a full-time Bookkeeper & Office Manager Assistant based in Delta, B.C.

In this hands-on and fast-paced role, you’ll report directly to the Office Manager and play a key part in keeping the company’s financial records accurate while supporting day-to-day office operations, travel coordination, and shipping logistics.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll using Sage Accounting for multiple companies
  • Processing payments, writing cheques, and balancing chequebooks
  • Preparing and issuing invoices while maintaining up-to-date project and timesheet spreadsheets
  • Handling bank deposits and reconciling financial records
  • Keep up to date on government polices related to bookkeeping
  • Booking and confirming travel arrangements including flights, hotels, and car rentals
  • Liaising with travel agents and coordinating logistics for remote field crews
  • Assisting with shipping documentation, customs forms, and coordinating freight pickups
  • Communicating with shipping companies to gather quotes and arrange deliveries
  • Scanning, filing, and organizing physical and digital records
  • Answering phones and providing general administrative support to the office team

About You

To qualify, you will need strong full-cycle bookkeeping skills and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience using Sage Accounting . A solid background in office administration and financial coordination is also essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience handling payroll, timesheets, invoicing, and bank reconciliation
  • Familiarity with coordinating business travel and working with travel agents
  • Knowledge of shipping logistics, documentation, and customs processes
  • Ability to multitask across finance, admin, and operations
  • Proficiency with Libre Office and spreadsheet management

As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong attention to detail and the ability to catch and correct errors independently. You’ll also be a patient and clear communicator, comfortable working with team members to follow up on timesheets, documentation, or other administrative needs. A proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to pitch in where needed will make you a great fit.
