Key Accountabilities:
The following list of duties, responsibilities and expectations of the Maintenance Technician is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the job. Rather they are intended only to describe the general nature of the job.

Typical Duties and Tasks

 Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
 Provide call out support to the Production lines or Sanitation crew on shift – prioritize breakdowns over
PMs and projects
 Perform maintenance tasks on production equipment as required and keep lines running efficiently
 Complete assigned daily work list and assigned PM tasks with a high quality of workmanship
 Suggest practical improvements to the Preventative Maintenance program to continually improve
effectiveness
 Participate in downtime analysis to develop and implement action plans to reduce downtime
 Complete fabrication projects and GTAW welding as required
 Complete improvement and equipment modification projects as required
 Suggest improvements to process and equipment
 Document work activities in CMMS and in daily shift report
 Review previous shift’s reports
 Document and identify parts used and required.

 Provide training and guidance where needed
 Interact regularly with Production and other departments to ensure equipment and systems are
functioning properly, downtime is minimized and that critical items are prioritized correctly
 Contribute to overtime coverage
 Work with and assist contractors as required
 Provide factual and detailed communication
 Model a service-oriented attitude
 Demonstrate a high degree of motivation and take initiative
 Other duties as directed by the Engineering & Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
 Plant equipment consists of a combination of new and old equipment, conveyors and conveyor-based
systems, ovens, fryers, breaders, mechanical and cryogenic freezers, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics,
VFDs, PLCs, packaging equipment, baggers, cartoners, tapers, ancillary equipment such as boilers,
refrigeration compressors, air compressors, hydraulic power packs etc.

Qualifications Required:
 Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment – ideally food
production
 Red seal ticket as Millwright and / or Electrician with strong mechanical aptitude and skill set
 Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, machining, fabrication, electrical, PLC & controls concepts and
practices
 Ability to read and interpret CADs, blueprints and electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic schematics
 Experience and competence using CMMS systems
 Adequate computer skills using Microsoft Office applications and other common business software
 Strong ability to work in a team and independently
 Strong verbal and written communication skills
 Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Working Conditions:
 Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment
 Must be flexible to occasionally cover other shifts as needed (vacation, illness, etc.)
 Must be able to work in refrigerated (~8C) and hot (~30C) environments as required
