We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. This position manages the design, execution and evaluation of complex transportation plans to deliver a safe, reliable, and efficient transportation network. This position works closely with the planning functions in Engineering, Maintenance, Aviation, and Transport Services to implement comprehensive, division-level planning that promotes consistency of planning activities across the division and improves integration of planning with budgeting and asset management objectives for the network.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the transportation disciplines such as civil engineering, economics, planning or logistics or related field;
  • Experience carrying out and managing economic and/or policy research and analysis of transportation issues and projects;
  • Experience managing and delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders;
  • Leadership and supervisory experience would be considered an asset

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:

  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently;

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;

  • Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate projects;

  • Ability to establish strong and effective working relationships with senior management, and other stakeholders; and

  • Demonstrated leadership competencies.

Conditions of Employment

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent

Job Requirements

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:

  • Travel and mandatory use of personal protective equipment.
