Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Coach to join our rapidly growing Warriors Men's Rugby program at the University of Waterloo. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the development of young rugby players, especially at junior level, with a desire to develop both themselves and the athletes on to the elite level. As a member of our Coaching team, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and motivating environment that encourages personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship towards the very pinnacle of our sport.
Responsibilities
- Work with the rest of the Coaching team to develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of both individual athletes and teams.
- Educate players on individual, group and team skills. strategies and game plans.
- Lead and participate in regular practice sessions, ensuring that all athletes receive personalized attention and feedback.
- Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive guidance to enhance performance.
- Foster and uphold our Warrior team culture that promotes collaboration, respect, and unselfishness among athletes.
- Help organize and participate in competitions, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed effectively
Experience
- Proven experience as a Rugby Union Coach working with young players is a distinct advantage, with at least a Level 1 certification
- A background in playing rugby union at a senior level is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed for practices and events.
