About the role

Role Overview

As a “hands-on” generalist, the Human Resources Business Partner performs a range of HR duties consisting of employee relations & engagement, recruitment, compensation, performance management, succession development planning & training, health & safety, and benefits administration. This role requires an individual who continually strives to understand how HR supports the business for bottom-line improvement and provides resolutions and consulting in the above areas to ensure profitable manufacturing-based business operations.

Location

This position is based at the Supremex Envelope division in Winnipeg (MB), supporting 2 facilities (Winnipeg – MB, Richmond – BC) with a total of approximately 65-70 employees, as well as, support additional HR initiatives and projects for other Canadian regions.

Duties

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals.
  • Manage employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to resolve conflicts and enhance workplace harmony.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis to inform HR decisions and improve processes.
  • Oversee training development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager and Operations, work with all levels of management and employees to initiate, promote, implement and maintain health and safety programs and initiatives, compliant with Occupational Health and Safety standards. Oversee and mange workers compensation programs and claims:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory compliance, as required by provincial and federal laws such as: Labour Standards, Occupational Health and Safety, workers compensation, Pay Equity, Employment Equity, etc.
  • Coordinate payroll, benefits and pension plan

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources generalist role, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably a similar sized organization of 50-75 employees, multiple locations a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related discipline
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities.
