Front Counter Customer Service
Job description
The cashier/clerk is responsible for greeting customers in a friendly and polite manner, operate the cash register and ring all sales. They are also expected to carefully manage cash and credit cards and follow all tobacco regulations at all times. Moreover, when the store is less busy, clerks are responsible for cleaning and organizing the store in order to achieve or surpass company expectations. Cashiers/Clerks are under the immediate supervision of the Site Manager. Please note that the Head Cashier must perform all the following duties and must also train and supervise other clerks.
Duties and Responsibilities
It should be noted that while the list of duties and responsibilities may not be complete it does represent the overall requirements of the job.
- Greet customers with a smile and offer prompt and friendly service
- Adhere to all federal and provincial tobacco regulations
- Operate the cash register and manage cash and credit cards as directed
- Apply customer payments on accounts
- Receive payment of client invoices by cash, credit cards or cheques
- Answer customers’ questions and provide information on products if needed
- Clean and sanitize all food and drink equipment, restrooms and showers
- Clean all windows and doors
- Empty garbage downstairs and upstairs
- Stock all shelves with appropriate products
- Keep food area stocked with coffee, tea, condiments, cups and lids
- Be familiar with the products and prices in the store
- Prepare a shift report at the end of the shift as per company guidelines
- Propane filling
Job Type: Part-time
