Job Description Job Summary The Public Relations Coordinator supports the public relations team in their efforts to support media relations, crisis issues management, marketing, and events to engage stakeholders in the mission of The Salvation Army.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide administrative support to the public relations team.
- Coordinate documentation for various meetings and events.
- Organize and support Advisory Board meetings, including agendas, minutes, and logistics.
- Schedule meetings, ensuring the preparation of necessary materials and documentation.
- Process invoices and expense claims in compliance with financial policies.
- Respond to public inquiries, providing timely, effective communication and assistance.
- Act as the main contact for media inquiries, redirecting as needed and identifying urgent issues.
- Collaborate with ministry unit leads to address questions and offer support with sensitivity.
- Offer administrative, planning, and logistical assistance for events.
- Assist with event budgets, vendor arrangements, catering, and other event logistics.
Education And Experience Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma of 2 to 3 years in a related field or relevant experience equivalent
- Three years of experience in customer service
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, administration, verbal, and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Prompt response that is friendly, diplomatic, while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office including MS Excel and MS Word
- Superior problem resolution and analytical skills, with a strong customer focus
- High standards of integrity, judgement, and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships of trust and confidentiality.
- Flexible, self-motivated, meets deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Ability and willingness to adhere to, support, promote, and further the values of The Salvation Army, its Mission Statement, its values and vision.
Compensation The target hiring range for this position is $37,771.75 to $47,214.68 with a maximum of $56,657.62.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
