Reporting directly to the Finance and Administration Unit Lead, this position is responsible for manpower administration and program support. The ideal candidate will exercise confidentiality, professionalism, flexibility and initiative. Exceptional organizational and time management skills will be crucial in ensuring the diverse administrative and operational needs of clients are provided in a consistent, accurate and timely manner. Communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are skills that will be essential to your success in this multi-faceted role.
Major responsibilities include manpower administration, general administration, and supervision of staff. With a focus on integrated and consistent delivery, these duties are expected for all program streams within the Region.
As an Administrative Unit Lead, your duties would also include but are not limited to:

Providing expertise, support and assistance in the preparation of monthly manpower reports and expense forecasts.

Running reports as required to support program needs.

Ensuring work is completed in accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines and in accordance with program delivery goals.

Managing and training staff on administrative, financial and human resource related processes.

Supervising staff to ensure operational goals are met.

Ensuring staff serve clients, the general public and stakeholders in a courteous, professional & timely manner.
The successful candidate will strengthen our team by building a collaborative work environment thru listening, sharing information, and accepting others' points of view in an open, honest, and non-defensive way. They will be a self-starter with a drive for results who possesses both a keen eye for detail and creative problem solving skills.

Qualifications
High School Diploma plus four (4) years of related experience in financial roles such as accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting or bookkeeping, budget administration, forecasting and expenditures or payroll.
A valid Class 5 drivers license is also required.
Equivalency:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

1 years of education for 1 year of experience; or
-
1 year of experience for 1 year education.
Assets:
-
Experience using Government of Alberta and ministry specific programs and applications including 1GX, EPS, FIRES/CAS and SAP.

Experience working with complex excel documents with multiple formulas and rollup tabs.

Experience working with of financial policies, procedures, agreements, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
-
Proven experience as supervisor or relevant role will be preferred.

This position is a full-time opportunity and is located in Calgary.
This position works Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30 PM, 36.25 hours a week.
