Your Opportunity:
Pharmacy Technicians will work with Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacists working to their full scope of practice. Pharmacy Technicians work collaboratively within the health care team performing all aspects of drug distribution and inventory control to provide efficient daily operation of all departmental services leading to safe and quality patient care. Core duties may include, but are not limited, to distribution related tasks, repackaging, final product checking, handling and storage of controlled substances, and inventory control and management including receiving and purchasing of pharmaceuticals. Assisting with training of staff hires and precepting students. Clinically deployed technicians are involved in obtaining information to facilitate medication reconciliation activities and clarifying discrepancies to support the provision of direct patient care.
The NLRH Pharmacy Technician schedule follows an alternate scheduling option per the HSAA Collective Agreement Letter of Understanding #31 (consecutive days of work).
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications:
As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Sterile and non-sterile compounding including chemotherapy preparation. EPIC & EPIC Inventory experience, barcoding, compounding & repackaging, dispensing functionality. Experience with Automated Dispensing Cabinets.
