Salary:
$50.07 - $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day.
Description:
The University ArtsSciences department is looking to hire one or more individuals to provide instruction for the following Interprofessional Mental Health and Additions (IMHA) Advanced Certificate courses:
IMHA 310 – Foundations for Practice (Fall 2025, 96 hours)
IMHA 313 – Interventions (Winter 2026, 96 hours)

Qualifications:
Required:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a closely related health or human services field.
- Direct experience working in community mental health and/or addictions field, preferably within BC and with knowledge of local/regional resources.
- Knowledge of the skills, knowledge and roles/responsibilities required of Community Mental Health Workers in a variety of institutional, residential, and community environments.
- Experience with learning management systems and instructing online.
- Commitment to student motivation and achievement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work and contribute positively to the College environment are essential.
Preferred:
- PhD in Social Work or Psychology, or a closely related field.
- The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
- Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous students.
- Experience with Indigenous Communities, Peoples and Culture.
- Preference will be given to current residents of BC.
