IT Systems Administrator - Montreal
About the role

We are currently looking for an IT System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and managie software, hardware, and networks. The role requires resourcefulness and the ability to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. The goal is to ensure that the technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, Configure and Maintain: Set up software, hardware and cloud services and deploy recommended updates as needed.
- Monitor Performance: Ensure systems are running efficiently and troubleshoot issues.
- Security Management: Implement security measures such as access controls, backups, and firewalls policies.
- IT L2-L3 Support: Provide technical assistance to the IT department and critical users.
- Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience as a System Administrator with some Network Administration knowledge, or similar role for at least 5 years
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management. Microsoft operating system, VMWare. Cloud infrastructure such as Azure and AWS.
- Scripting: Ability to use PowerShell scripts when required for efficient management of on-premises and cloud infrastructure
- Education: BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline or equivalent experience. Professional certifications are a plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, resourcefulness, team work and problem-solving aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Virtualization, Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, Cloud solutions (Azure/AWS)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange, Entra ID, Defender, Intune
- Experience with Unified Communications a plus (Teams Room Systems, Teams PSTN telephony)
