About the role
Technical Builder Wanted: Automation & Integration Engineer
You :
Are you a systems thinker with a builder’s mindset? Do you light up at the chance to connect platforms, automate messy workflows, and pioneer smarter ways of working?
If you’re energized by AI agents, APIs, and the power of automation to transform how people work—you may have just found your home base. You’ll be building the tools and systems that power millions of hours of care each year.
If you thrive on transforming complex challenges into practical solutions and are passionate about building foundational digital infrastructure, this role as an Automation & Integration Engineer is for you. We're seeking a hands-on technical expert to drive our automation strategy and implement vital integrations, paving the way for scalable growth.
Us :
We’re Kindred Home Care—a fast-scaling, values-driven company delivering over 25,000 hours of care each week across the Maritimes. Trusted by thousands of families and over 1,000 frontline caregivers, we’ve earned our reputation by being radically responsive and relentlessly people-first.
Now, we’re taking that proven model to new provinces—starting with Toronto and Halifax—and building the infrastructure to support massive growth.
Our team is small, smart, and scrappy. No multi layers of approval. No tech-for-tech’s-sake. Just high-impact work that matters. We’re aiming high: 4 million hours of care by 2030. And we need the right systems—and people—to get us there.
What You’ll Do
Lead System Integrations & Workflow Automation
- Build and manage integrations and Automations across all our systems and business processes
- Use tools like Salesforce Flows, Zapier, Make, Mulesoft, and custom scripts or APIs to build seamless, reliable integrations that eliminate manual work and drive efficiency.

- Translate high-friction processes into efficient, scalable automated workflows
Champion Emerging Tech & AI Tools
- Evaluate, pilot and implement AI-powered tools to improve scheduling, communications, and operational workflows.
- Stay ahead of trends in automation and AI—and bring forward practical tools that improve how we work
- Serve as the internal go-to for testing and integrating emerging technologies, with a focus on improving team efficiency and user experience.
Design for Scale & Compliance
- Support post-acquisition tech stack alignment—deciding what to keep, consolidate, or sunset
- Build automated workflows that anonymize, purge, or transfer data in compliance with PIPEDA and PHIPAA
- Ensure data integrity across systems and support operational reporting needs with minimal manual involvement.
- Partner with Tech Ops and external partners to ensure system architecture aligns with internal data policies and audit standards.
Support & Collaborate Across Teams
- Work closely with SVP of Transformation and other senior leaders to align system design with business goal
- Team up with Tech Ops and external partners to resolve issues, document solutions, and support new projects
- Collaborate with external vendors on complex builds or legacy modifications, and ensure smooth knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Partner with creative and strategic teams to co-build tools that support marketing, growth, and care delivery
- Work with the Transformation Coordinator to document workflows and build internal playbooks to ensure repeatable success
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years in automation, integration, or business systems engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with platforms like Salesforce, Zapier, Make, or Workato, and scripting with APIs using Python, JavaScript, or SQL
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as Salesforce, Alyacare, QuickBooks, Payworks, and contact center platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Twilio, Five9, RingCentral, Zoom)
- Solid understanding of data privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., PIPEDA, PHIPAA)
- Bonus: Experience implementing or integrating AI-powered tools (e.g., bots, agents, smart workflow tools)
Who You Are
You connect systems—and people—making them work better together.
You are a builder who doesn’t wait for perfection. You start with what you have and figure it out.
You approach every project with clarity, courage, and curiosity.
Why Join Kindred?
Be more than an engineer—be a builder of what’s next. This is a rare opportunity to support a company’s automation strategy from the ground up, with real ownership, the right collaborators, and work that matters.
Apply now and help us shape the systems that will power millions of hours of meaningful care.
*Open to applicants based in Atlantic Canada—with the ability to travel periodically to Halifax, NS or Saint John, NB for training and in-person collaboration.*
