This is an opportunity to join a forward-looking multi-year Investment Platform transformation program designed to deliver a modernized target operating model. The initiative will drive end-to-end modernization of technology and data capabilities, enabling streamlined processes, enhanced scalability, and improved decision-making across investment, operations, and finance teams.
The Transformation Office is accountable for all aspects of program delivery including Program and Project Management, Change Management & Communications, Transformation Design and Delivery, and Data Enablement.
We believe that time together in the office is important for OMERS and Oxford, the strength of our employees, and the work we do for our pension members. Our hybrid work guideline requires teams to come to the office a minimum of 4 days per week.
This is a fixed term, direct T4 contract which includes benefits, paid time off, and pension plan. (Not considering Independent Contractors or Hourly rate)
Scope of Position:
As a Senior Business Analyst for eFront, you will play a critical role in working closely with our internal partners in Capital Markets Finance, Investment Finance, and OMERS private markets investment teams to enhance the process workflows within the eFront platform and deliver on our transformation objectives. Reporting to the eFront Transformation Lead of the Transformation Office, you will focus on defining business requirements and specifications for new solutions and integrations. This role requires a strong understanding of private investments operations and business analysis skills, with hands-on experience in BlackRock’s eFront and Aladdin platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis: Define business requirements, design system interfaces, support testing, documentation, and upgrading investment applications related to Alternative Investments.
Conduct detailed analysis of existing processes, technology, and data flows, identifying opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
Lead in the redesign of business processes to align with new system capabilities, including the setup of new private asset classes.
Facilitate design workshops, prepare business process maps to capture the future state operating model.
Develop test cases for the testing process, ensuring business requirements are met, and participate in defect management and solution design.
Application Support & Development: Leveraging your knowledge of the eFront application, deliver solutions and proactive support to enhance business workflows in Investment Finance.
Work with technical teams and advisory partners to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, ensuring alignment with system integration milestones.
Tool & Report Development : Work with investment data to develop tools and reports that support the measurement and reporting of investment activities.
Data Analysis: Leverage systems to source and analyze large datasets, addressing key investment questions and creating new analytical frameworks.
Liaise with project managers and program leads providing accurate and timely status tracking and reporting to ensure successful project delivery.
Identify and proactively address potential risks and issues related to technology, process, and organizational changes.
Stakeholder Interaction: Build and maintain relationships with investment professionals and teams to understand and communicate business needs effectively.
Collaborate with the Change Management team to design strategies for managing organizational impacts and support training initiatives.
Provide guidance to teams to facilitate smooth adoption of new systems and processes.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: University degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Chartered Profession Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), are highly desirable.
Experience: 6+ years’ experience as a Senior Business/Systems Analyst with exposure to alternative investment systems implementation, having 2 years’ experience with the alternative investment sector, with experience in eFront and Aladdin applications.
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of private debt, private direct and fund investments, capital markets and financial instruments, with hands-on experience using SQL, Power BI, and related tools. Proficiency in system integrating and understanding the technical requirements for seamless data flow Knowledge of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, and UiPath are a plus.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and apply complex financial principles.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills to foster effective team dynamics and build relationships internally and externally.
Learning & Curiosity: Strong intellectual curiosity and adaptability to changing investment and technology environments.
