The Location: Hollyburn Country Club is located in West Vancouver at 950 Cross Creek Road. Prior to applying for this position, we strongly encourage you to Google our location to ensure that you will be able to travel to and from work as public transportation is limited.

Position Summary

The Sports Boutique offers a curated selection of items, such as gifts & home décor, designed to meet the unique needs of our Members and their guests. This is not your ordinary retail experience! We are seeking a mature, enthusiastic individual to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our boutique.

The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering exceptional member service and experience, thrives in a dynamic environment, and brings prior retail experience to the table. They should be adaptable—able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required. If you are committed, fun, and excited about building a busy business, this role is for you.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent member service, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through attentive sales assistance.
  • Welcome members, assess their needs, and offer product information.
  • Assist in achieving sales goals by actively engaging in monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets.
  • Perform merchandising tasks, including arranging clothing, boutique items, and window displays.
  • Process returns, exchanges, and claims efficiently.
  • Receive and price inventory, monitor special orders, and assist with stock organization.
  • Communicate with company representatives regarding product and sales inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor.
  • Offer suggestions to enhance sales through marketing efforts and store layout improvements.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with members.
  • Adhere to scheduling commitments and support the team with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Answering phones in a professional and kind manner

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail or member service is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in business or retail management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with merchandise, including clothing and accessories, is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move items as necessary.
  • Be physically capable of lifting and moving heavy boxes or display units, and comfortable using ladders or stairs.
  • Technical systems proficiency is an asset, as we plan to develop an online presence for the boutique in the near future.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates 100% on-site
  • 3 – 5 days working per week (potential for this position to transition to full-time)
  • Weekend shifts are required.
  • Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
  • Candidates 19 years or older must agree to complete a Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector search (fully reimbursed upon hire).
