Dispatcher (Maternity leave replacement One-year contract)

Cotecna is now seeking a dedicated and proactive Dispatcher to join our team in the Burnaby, BC office as a maternity leave replacement for a part-time one-year contract.

Cotecna Canada, based in Vancouver, plays a key role in supporting trade, ensuring the safety and efficiency of global supply chains. We specialize in on-site supervision, sampling, and quality control for shipments moving through the Port of Vancouver.
What you’ll do
- The dispatcher is responsible for creating and communicating the schedule for shift coverage.
- The dispatcher will communicate with clients to determine their staffing needs.
- The dispatcher will be responsible for keeping track of employee’s work availabilities.
- The dispatcher will be required to accurately maintain a record of scheduled shifts and the status of employee shift confirmations.
- The dispatcher will be responsible for inputting and communicating the schedule through various mediums (i.e., email, text messaging, scheduling applications/software).
- The dispatcher will be required to communicate any complications or concerns to the Operations Coordinator or Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for
- High School Diploma or Equivalent in Years Experience
- Strong written and communication skills and organizational skills are required
- Ability to perform various administrative duties.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability to promote a compassionate, caring, customer service-oriented culture by operating in a professional and collaborative fashion.
