We are looking for a motivated and productivity-oriented Fibre Splicer to join our expanding team!
We are one of Canada's leading telecommunications contractors, servicing major clients such as Telus, SaskTel, Bell, and many others. WPT is positioned to continue its significant growth as our partner clients undertake large scale capital projects to expand Canada's telecom infrastructure. Job Duties:
- Build fibre optic splice closures (FOSCs), prep, and splice OSP fibre cables into various FOSCs
- Dress and mount aerial FOSCs and cables. This may involve using a bucket truck, ladder, or climbing telecommunication poles with spurs. Working heights range from 15-40ft
- Dress and rack FOSCs and cables in pedestals, service boxes, vaults, and manholes
- Use OTDR, OLTS, and Power Meters to test, analyze, and troubleshoot fibre networks
- Read and interpret telecom design prints and update based on progress, changes, field findings
- Safely drive and maneuver vehicles into tight spaces and easements.
- Perform other duties as requested
