Business Analyst - (8-Month Contract with Possible Extension)

Location: New Westminster , British Columbia (Hybrid Work Model)

Duration: 8 Months | Full-Time (7.5 hours/day)

Contract Opportunity

Overview

Our clinet is seeking a Business Analyst to support the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Project through the design and implementation phases of a critical business transformation initiative. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders from multiple business units and vendor partners to define, document, and optimize business processes.

This is a high-impact role suited for a detail-oriented, strategic thinker with exceptional facilitation and communication skills. You’ll work across Asset Management, Work Management, and Supply Chain Management streams to drive the successful adoption of mobile and modernized technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Analyst will contribute to project execution and delivery, including:

  • Lead stakeholder engagement to gather and analyze business requirements using interviews, workshops, site visits, surveys, and documentation review.
  • Develop and maintain detailed business process models, use cases, and requirements documentation.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis against industry best practices and technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, integrators, and vendors to design future-state processes and resolve cross-functional dependencies.
  • Support configuration, testing, data migration, and validation activities.
  • Provide input on change management activities and assist in developing training materials and user documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and decision-support materials.
  • Maintain traceability of business requirements through to user stories and test cases.
  • Participate in solution design workshops, functional reviews, and system implementation planning.

Deliverables

The selected candidate will produce and contribute to the following:

  • Business process documentation and flowcharts (e.g., MS Visio)
  • Fit-gap analysis and solution recommendation artifacts
  • Use cases, user stories, test scenarios, and traceability matrices
  • Reporting requirements and data model concepts
  • SOPs, user guides, training aids, and security access guidelines
  • Communication materials and decision-support documents
  • Knowledge transfer materials and post-implementation support content

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst on complex enterprise projects
  • Proven experience leading business process improvement and reengineering efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, consolidate findings, and communicate insights clearly
  • Experience across full project lifecycles including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and deployment
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365, Visio, SharePoint, Teams
  • Familiarity with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong understanding of Asset Management, Work Management, or Supply Chain domains
  • Ability to support stakeholder decision-making and change adoption

Preferred:

  • Experience with ERP or EAM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor)
  • Experience supporting data migration and reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of Organizational Change Management principles
  • Business Analyst certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA)
  • Familiarity with benefit realization models and capital project documentation
  • Technical background or prior development experience is an asset
