Health & Safety Director - Renewable Energy
About the Role
Join us as we lead the charge in renewable energy development and construction. We're seeking an exceptional Health & Safety Director to champion safety excellence across our dynamic projects while protecting our most valuable assets—our people and the communities we serve.
As our Health & Safety Director, you'll drive the strategic development and execution of comprehensive safety programs that set industry standards. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a culture of safety that enables our renewable energy projects to succeed while maintaining zero-harm environments.
What You'll Do
Strategic Safety Leadership
- Design and implement cutting-edge health and safety policies aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Partner with project managers and contractors to proactively identify risks and develop innovative mitigation strategies
- Lead the development of project-specific safety plans that seamlessly integrate with construction timelines and objectives
Operational Excellence
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections and safety audits to ensure consistent compliance and continuous improvement
- Deliver engaging safety training programs that empower employees with knowledge and best practices
- Investigate incidents with thorough root cause analysis, transforming lessons learned into preventive action plans
Performance & Compliance Management
- Monitor, analyze, and report safety performance metrics to executive leadership, driving data-informed decisions
- Maintain current expertise on evolving industry regulations and safety innovations
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols with comprehensive employee preparedness training
- Serve as primary liaison with regulatory bodies during audits and inspections
- Oversee meticulous safety documentation and record-keeping systems
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of progressive health and safety management experience
- Renewable energy or electrical sector experience strongly preferred

- Deep expertise in safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices
- Proven track record developing and implementing successful safety programs
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience building safety-conscious teams
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
- Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide
