Andrews Scenic Acres sells fresh produce and other farm products at its Farm Store.

The Farm Store Assistant is working closely with the Farm Store Lead on the daily management and operations of the store and store staff.

We are looking for a Farm Store Assistant to work part time to full time hours during the Summer and Fall (July - August - September-October).

Must be fully available weekdays and weekends.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the Farm Store Lead, in charge of scheduling staff for the farm store, winery and, food services. Coordinate scheduling with the Tour & Event Coordinator
• Supervise the staff team, provide direction and training.
• Manage daily cash operations
• Monitor product quality and inventory daily
• Complete daily and weekly inventory and sales reports, and maintain appropriate store inventory levels
• In charge of retail displays, and in-store advertisement.
• Help out in farm store if needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Updating and organizing office files; including staff procedures, checklists, etc.
• Field customer phone calls, voicemails, emails and social media inquiries on a daily basis
• Respond to customer complaints and concerns
• Resolve any questions, concerns, conflicts and issues among staff
• Other duties as occasionally assigned if safe and practical to do so.

Education / Knowledge

• Valid drivers license is required
• Experience with retail store management is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent, some post-secondary is preferred.
• An interest in local food and/or agriculture is an asset.
• First Aid certification is an asset.
• Must have Food Handlers Certification and Smart Serve Certification (will be sponsored by the company)
• Familiarity with Microsoft office programs
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Abilities

• Some medium – heavy lifting required
• Must be able to hear and see clearly as this is a working farm with moving equipment.
