Adecco is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic Maintenance Engineering team at a leading Mining operation in Fort McMurray . This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced engineer passionate about reliability, continuous improvement, and impactful, cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between Production Units and the Rotating Engineering team, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Participate in daily and weekly Production Unit meetings to support equipment availability and operational decision-making
- Monitor equipment health, troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analysis, and develop long-term reliability solutions
- Issue scope of work and inspection recommendations for outages and routine maintenance
- Analyze equipment wear, recommend one-time cost-effective repairs, and report reliability metrics for various equipment classes
- Apply continuous improvement strategies to increase equipment uptime and reduce operating costs
- Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on progress, issues, and proposed solutions
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work full-time working hours. Must be local to Fort McMurray or willing to relocate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Experience in Oil, Gas & Mining Industry is required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an operating facility, troubleshooting equipment and improving reliability
- Strong expertise in fixed plant equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, hoppers, screens, slurry pumps)
- Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis and reliability metrics
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, SAP/S4, and Fieldglass is an asset
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset
- Self-motivated, client-oriented, and capable of working independently and within a team
