Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pricing Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with the operations management team and the executive team to develop competitive and strategic pricing for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by various governmental and organizational entities. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that Emterra Group remains a leader in the recycling and waste management industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain effective pricing models that support profitability and sustainable growth.
- Analyze financial requirements for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by municipal, provincial, and federal governments, as well as industrial, institutional, and commercial organizations.
- Partner closely with the operations management team to understand service requirements, cost inputs, cost structures, and operational cost drivers.
- Work closely with the executive team to align pricing strategies with company goals, financial targets, and market conditions.
- Conduct market research, including cost benchmarking and competitive pricing analysis, to support data-driven pricing decisions.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of pricing strategies, and make recommendations for improvements based on internal data and market trends.
- Prepare detailed and accurate financial models using advanced Excel functions and Power BI tools.
- Support contract negotiations by providing strategic, data-backed pricing insights and recommendations.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date pricing database and a central library of all RFP submissions and proposal documents.
- Lead or contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives related to pricing, cost optimization, or market analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure pricing strategies are realistic, competitive, and executable
What will you bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (required); a degree in Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with deep experience in financial modeling and pricing strategy.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills, including Power Pivots, logical formulas (IF, VLOOKUP), and dashboards.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of cost structures, margin analysis, and profitability.
- Proven experience preparing pricing models for RFPs or large contracts.
- Familiarity with Great Plains, Business Central, Fiix, Route Optix, Material Manager, or RTA is considered an asset.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations and written documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in the waste management, logistics, or a fast-paced operational environment is considered an asset.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- This is a fully onsite role based in Surrey, British Columbia.
