Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Learning, Engagement and Talent Management, the Executive Director, Leadership and Talent Management will provide strategic oversight and direction for all leadership learning initiatives and corporate talent management activities including executive development programs, executive level orientation and onboarding, and executive mentoring and coaching programs. In this role you will be responsible for the policy and program delivery of talent management programs including leadership assessment, talent pipeline and succession activities, career pathway programs, as well as reporting. You will provide strategic direction for leadership development programs for all management staff across the Alberta Public Service. You will also provide strategic direction, recommendations, consultation and advice to support Deputy Ministers and senior people leaders with supports and programs related to executive talent development and succession, management talent development and executive cadre planning and reporting.
Qualifications:
Your background includes extensive related senior management experience in leading corporate wide strategic human resource initiatives, an understanding of government organization and demonstrated experience leading large scale talent management programs as well as leadership development programs. Broad knowledge of strategic human resource management practices and employment legislation, regulations and policies will support your success. You have strong project management and organizational design expertise as well as experience leading change. You hold a reputation for empowering teams, facilitating innovation and a systems approach to achieving results. You are a strong relationship builder, working to find creative and collaborative solutions, supporting positive outcomes for people and the organization. A related post-secondary degree or equivalent education and experience in executive leadership development programs and talent management will be considered.
