Accelerating Community Energy Transformation (ACET) is a multi-partner initiative accelerating the global push for resilient and equitable clean energy solutions through local, community-based collaborations.
Established at the University of Victoria in 2023, ACET builds on three decades of knowledge and innovation developed by the Institute for Integrated Energy Systems (IESVic) with industry, non-profit, government and community partners.
With support from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, ACET is a partnership between Royal Roads University, University of British Columbia, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and Yukon University, led by the University of Victoria.
An employee in this classification is excluded from the bargaining unit as defined in the Labour Relations Code*.*
The salary range for this position is:
- Recruitment range: $106,897 - $133,623 maximum starting salary is determined through knowledge, experience and internal equity.
- Performance range: $153,666 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.
Job Summary
The Partnerships Manager actively leads ACET’s partnership initiatives, managing day-to-day operations, and providing hands-on leadership to teams driving community and stakeholder engagement. The role ensures integration across ACET’s Strategic Research Areas (SRAs), facilitating effective collaboration and enhancing research impact through strategic partnerships.
Objectives:
- Provide hands-on operational leadership to the SRA Managers team.
- Actively foster and manage strategic partnerships with communities, industry, governments, NGOs, and academic collaborators.
- Coordinate and integrate research activities and stakeholder engagement across all ACET SRAs.
- Oversee project development, budgeting, timelines, deliverables, and impact reporting.
- Support ACET’s sustainability and continued funding through strategic partnership development.
Job Requirements
Postgraduate degree in Public Administration, Business, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum of seven+ (7) years of relevant experience in a leadership position with expertise in dynamic partnerships and community engagement, working in government affairs, public policy, campaigns, and/or community development in large complex organizations. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated operational leadership and direct team management experience.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development across government, Indigenous communities, industry, and NGOs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and meaningful Indigenous community engagement.
Assets:
- Experience in post-secondary or research-intensive environments.
- Familiarity with energy systems, sustainability, or climate action initiatives.
- Experience with funding agency requirements and research commercialization processes
