Title: Advisor, Regional Mental Wellness, Health Emergency Management
Salary: $72,841 - $91,051 - $100,156 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Park Royal, West Vancouver, BC, located on the ancestral territories of the Squamish, Musqueam & Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
About The Role Join us as an Advisor for Regional Mental Wellness and make a significant impact on mental health and wellness in the Vancouver Coastal Region. Based in the community, you’ll coordinate responses to mental health requests and emergencies, working closely with other communities, health system partners, FNHA teams, and cultural and traditional supports. Your role will be crucial in advancing HEM’s four pillars and supporting the Central Coast communities. About You To be successful in this role you will have/be –
Education
- A university degree in psychology, public health, health sciences or a relevant health and wellness field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Specialization in mental health, counselling, and/or being a registered clinical counsellor or registered clinical social worker is preferred.
Experience
- 8 years of experience in mental health programs, planning, and responding to emergencies, including trauma-informed practices.
- Proven experience working within BC’s healthcare system and with First Nations communities or organizations, providing mental wellness advice and recommendations to practitioners and clients.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the mental health and wellness governance landscape in First Nations health in BC, including system needs, issues, and current programs and services.
- Strong understanding of mental wellness theories, practices, and principles, including suicide prevention, emergency response, and traditional, alternative, and complementary healing practices.
- Ability to apply First Nations cultural principles, protocols, cultural safety and humility in work situations.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
