Haldimand-Norfolk REACH is a multi-service agency, providing Autism & Behaviour Services, Child & Youth Mental Health Services, Developmental Services, Youth Services, Adult Counselling Services, and several Early Learning Intervention & Care services including EarlyON Child & Family Centres and the Community Action Program for Children.
H-N REACH serves as the Lead Agency for Haldimand-Norfolk Child & Youth Mental Health Services, Coordinated Service Planning and the Student Nutrition Program in the Hamilton/Niagara Region. Early Learning & Care Unit
School-Age Program
CHILD CARE PROGRAM LEADER Ref. #2025-26B
Part-time, Permanent, Hourly
-program runs September to June
-Caledonia
-minimum of 25 hours per week during the school year
-day shifts include morning & afternoons from 7:30am-9:00am & 3:00pm-6:00pm, Monday – Friday
Salary: Step 1 $19.78 (+$7.31)* - Step 2 $22.25 (+$7.31)* - Step 3 $24.73 (+$7.31)*
*(Rates in bracket include the Wage Subsidy, Wage Enhancement, and Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care grants that are applied to the base hourly rates as per funder guidelines, for eligible individuals).

Responsibilities:
To provide leadership to the School-Age Program by ensuring the day-to-day operations of the Before & After Program by ensuring all of the requirements laid out in the Child Care & Early Years Act 2014 (CCEYA). Implementing the program statement and maintaining cooperative links with parents, school principal and community professionals and the School-Age team.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma (registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing), Social Services, or related field diploma
- Experience leading children’s activities
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- A minimum of one year experience preferred
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR-C Certificate
- Verification of the required immunizations/immunity, as required by the local Medical Officer of Health
- Vulnerable Sector Record Check (includes Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check) and Children’s Aid Society Declaration/Release
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence, $2 million vehicle liability insurance, clear Driver Abstract and use of a vehicle.
